Narrative:
Failed to handoff aircraft X to next sector and when I noticed the aircraft was within 7 mi of aircraft Y on converging courses, aircraft X passed behind aircraft Y. I attempted to turn aircraft X, but the pilot did not acknowledge clearance. I handed aircraft X off to the next sector when aircraft X cleared aircraft Y with more than 8 mi diverging courses. I was distraction by the use of new equipment, a 'uret' malfunction caused me to divert my focus from the radar scope.

Title: ARTCC RADAR CTLR AT ZAU FAILS TO HDOF TFC TO NEXT SECTOR IN A TIMELY MANNER RESULTING IN AN OPDEV.
Narrative: FAILED TO HDOF ACFT X TO NEXT SECTOR AND WHEN I NOTICED THE ACFT WAS WITHIN 7 MI OF ACFT Y ON CONVERGING COURSES, ACFT X PASSED BEHIND ACFT Y. I ATTEMPTED TO TURN ACFT X, BUT THE PLT DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE CLRNC. I HANDED ACFT X OFF TO THE NEXT SECTOR WHEN ACFT X CLRED ACFT Y WITH MORE THAN 8 MI DIVERGING COURSES.
