Narrative:
Current clearance at beginning of subject incident flight was at FL350, cleared direct to fingr fix, fingr 3 STAR to dal. ZFW controller reclred the flight to lit, fingr 3 STAR lit transition. As we had previously been cleared direct to fingr, I had lit as an abeam fix. The PNF selected the 'dir int' page and line selected the lit 02 (abeam fix) to the direct to box. He entered and I verified the direct routing. As we flew to the abeam fix, we were flying to the lit 030 degree radial, 12 DME fix vice the lit VOR. The ZFW controller asked us 'where are you going?'
