Narrative:
Called company maintenance to resolve warning electronic unit white redundancy light, which I found illuminated, while conducting cockpit preflight. The light went out, after I reset relevant circuit breakers, referenced in our abnormal checklists. Nevertheless, mechanic arrived and I conferred with him as to what needed to be done further -- any system checks that may be warranted -- despite problem being resolved, ostensibly. He said there were no checks he needed to perform. So flight departed normally. Please note I did not document this transient discrepancy in the aircraft mechanical logbook. During climb out from ZZZ1 at about 10000 ft, this same warning electronic unit light came on momentarily, then went out. I called company maintenance, and consensus was reached to return aircraft back to ZZZ1. The rest of the flight was normal. In retrospect, I should have initially documented this discrepancy at the gate, when the mechanic first arrived. From now on I will be more conscientious about these matters.

Title: A SAAB 340B WITH A PREFLT DISCREPANCY CORRECTED IS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH NO LOGBOOK INPUT FOR CORRECTIVE ACTION.
Narrative: CALLED COMPANY MAINT TO RESOLVE WARNING ELECTRONIC UNIT WHITE REDUNDANCY LIGHT, WHICH I FOUND ILLUMINATED, WHILE CONDUCTING COCKPIT PREFLT. THE LIGHT WENT OUT, AFTER I RESET RELEVANT CIRCUIT BREAKERS, REFED IN OUR ABNORMAL CHKLISTS. NEVERTHELESS, MECH ARRIVED AND I CONFERRED WITH HIM AS TO WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE FURTHER -- ANY SYS CHKS THAT MAY BE WARRANTED -- DESPITE PROB BEING RESOLVED, OSTENSIBLY. HE SAID THERE WERE NO CHKS HE NEEDED TO PERFORM. SO FLT DEPARTED NORMALLY. PLEASE NOTE I DID NOT DOCUMENT THIS TRANSIENT DISCREPANCY IN THE ACFT MECHANICAL LOGBOOK. DURING CLBOUT FROM ZZZ1 AT ABOUT 10000 FT, THIS SAME WARNING ELECTRONIC UNIT LIGHT CAME ON MOMENTARILY, THEN WENT OUT. I CALLED COMPANY MAINT, AND CONSENSUS WAS REACHED TO RETURN ACFT BACK TO ZZZ1. THE REST OF THE FLT WAS NORMAL. IN RETROSPECT, I SHOULD HAVE INITIALLY DOCUMENTED THIS DISCREPANCY AT THE GATE, WHEN THE MECH FIRST ARRIVED. FROM NOW ON I WILL BE MORE CONSCIENTIOUS ABOUT THESE MATTERS.
