Narrative:

Flight was canceled due to icing in mci. Flight rescheduled to overfly mci and go direct to mdw 15 mins prior to push. Light freezing rain falling at okc at push time. Operations agent/dispatch wanted to push early in order to get out ahead of impending moderate freezing rain. With only 25 mins to prepare the aircraft, destination switch with 15 mins to go and some interior cabin lights that the flight attendants had trouble getting to come on. Things got very busy. Early push did not help. Push, taxi, takeoff were all safe and normal. All aircraft system functioned normally. Once airborne, I reviewed our release and WX pack. I noticed 3 things wrong with the revised information: 1) the flight attendants were not listed on the crew member validation list. 2) top line now mdw ETA was off by 1 hour -- filed route times correct however. 3) new landing alternate of mke was not included in the WX pack. Looked like dispatch had left the old data and forgot to add mke -- and I did not catch it. Lessons learned: I told the operations agent that we were not going to rush ourselves and that we would move safely to get everything done. He did not like hearing that. I explained that any moderate freezing rain would bring us back to the gate. Despite my normal precautions and making sure the first officer was not rushed, I still missed these items prior to push. Next time, I will ignore any attempts to unnecessarily rush. In-flight, we got updates on mke metar and taf's. Uneventful landing in mdw. Supplemental information from acn 536707: my initial cockpit set-up was delayed, as I had not received a copy of the release. After my walkaround inspection and return to the cockpit, I was informed by the captain that our flight plan was changed to okc-mdw. Without a release and approaching push time, I copied the clearance (okc-mdw) and completed my prestart flows. We rode in with the attendants from the hotel, so we knew them prior to arrival at the aircraft. The en route time, fuel burn, and arrival fuel were accurate on the release even though the arrival time was not. Conclusion: last min changes and a rush to beat deteriorating WX led to an incomplete review of a hastily amended dispatch release.

Title: A B737-300 FLC DEPARTS ARPT EARLY FOR WX PURPOSES/AVOIDANCE ON AN AMENDED DISPATCH RELEASE, BUT FIND SOME ERRORS AFTER DEP AKC, OK.

Narrative: FLT WAS CANCELED DUE TO ICING IN MCI. FLT RESCHEDULED TO OVERFLY MCI AND GO DIRECT TO MDW 15 MINS PRIOR TO PUSH. LIGHT FREEZING RAIN FALLING AT OKC AT PUSH TIME. OPS AGENT/DISPATCH WANTED TO PUSH EARLY IN ORDER TO GET OUT AHEAD OF IMPENDING MODERATE FREEZING RAIN. WITH ONLY 25 MINS TO PREPARE THE ACFT, DEST SWITCH WITH 15 MINS TO GO AND SOME INTERIOR CABIN LIGHTS THAT THE FLT ATTENDANTS HAD TROUBLE GETTING TO COME ON. THINGS GOT VERY BUSY. EARLY PUSH DID NOT HELP. PUSH, TAXI, TKOF WERE ALL SAFE AND NORMAL. ALL ACFT SYS FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. ONCE AIRBORNE, I REVIEWED OUR RELEASE AND WX PACK. I NOTICED 3 THINGS WRONG WITH THE REVISED INFO: 1) THE FLT ATTENDANTS WERE NOT LISTED ON THE CREW MEMBER VALIDATION LIST. 2) TOP LINE NOW MDW ETA WAS OFF BY 1 HR -- FILED RTE TIMES CORRECT HOWEVER. 3) NEW LNDG ALTERNATE OF MKE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE WX PACK. LOOKED LIKE DISPATCH HAD LEFT THE OLD DATA AND FORGOT TO ADD MKE -- AND I DID NOT CATCH IT. LESSONS LEARNED: I TOLD THE OPS AGENT THAT WE WERE NOT GOING TO RUSH OURSELVES AND THAT WE WOULD MOVE SAFELY TO GET EVERYTHING DONE. HE DID NOT LIKE HEARING THAT. I EXPLAINED THAT ANY MODERATE FREEZING RAIN WOULD BRING US BACK TO THE GATE. DESPITE MY NORMAL PRECAUTIONS AND MAKING SURE THE FO WAS NOT RUSHED, I STILL MISSED THESE ITEMS PRIOR TO PUSH. NEXT TIME, I WILL IGNORE ANY ATTEMPTS TO UNNECESSARILY RUSH. INFLT, WE GOT UPDATES ON MKE METAR AND TAF'S. UNEVENTFUL LNDG IN MDW. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 536707: MY INITIAL COCKPIT SET-UP WAS DELAYED, AS I HAD NOT RECEIVED A COPY OF THE RELEASE. AFTER MY WALKAROUND INSPECTION AND RETURN TO THE COCKPIT, I WAS INFORMED BY THE CAPT THAT OUR FLT PLAN WAS CHANGED TO OKC-MDW. WITHOUT A RELEASE AND APCHING PUSH TIME, I COPIED THE CLRNC (OKC-MDW) AND COMPLETED MY PRESTART FLOWS. WE RODE IN WITH THE ATTENDANTS FROM THE HOTEL, SO WE KNEW THEM PRIOR TO ARR AT THE ACFT. THE ENRTE TIME, FUEL BURN, AND ARR FUEL WERE ACCURATE ON THE RELEASE EVEN THOUGH THE ARR TIME WAS NOT. CONCLUSION: LAST MIN CHANGES AND A RUSH TO BEAT DETERIORATING WX LED TO AN INCOMPLETE REVIEW OF A HASTILY AMENDED DISPATCH RELEASE.
