Narrative:
While changing circuit breakers for external power, disconnected aircraft's batteries. After completion, forgot to reconnect batteries because mechanic working with me turned power on. Thought he connected batteries, went to gate, batteries were showing zero volts, charger not working. Mechanic on line reconnected batteries, aircraft was dispatched.

Title: AN MD82 WAS RETURNED TO SVC IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE MAIN SHIP'S BATTERY DISCONNECTED. DISCOVERED ON GATE DURING PREFLT CHK.
Narrative: WHILE CHANGING CIRCUIT BREAKERS FOR EXTERNAL PWR, DISCONNECTED ACFT'S BATTERIES. AFTER COMPLETION, FORGOT TO RECONNECT BATTERIES BECAUSE MECH WORKING WITH ME TURNED PWR ON. THOUGHT HE CONNECTED BATTERIES, WENT TO GATE, BATTERIES WERE SHOWING ZERO VOLTS, CHARGER NOT WORKING. MECH ON LINE RECONNECTED BATTERIES, ACFT WAS DISPATCHED.
