Narrative:

At XA30 am on feb/fri/02, I was taxiing to runway 31 at dbq. WX at dbq was VFR with snow and ice on the taxiway covering the markings. When I reached the hold short area I was watching for the hold short line and realized I had gone over it when I looked for the marker at the edge of the taxiway. We advised the tower that we were over the hold short line. The tower had the aircraft on approach to runway 31 go around and authority/authorized us to maneuver into position behind the hold short line. Lesson: don't depend on the painted hold short line as the only method of identing the hold short point.
