Narrative:
On jasen arrival inbound to iad, we experienced severe turbulence. The turbulence lasted approximately 30 seconds. Our position was inside of doccs intersection descending through about 9000 ft. Our speed was 250 KTS. The flight conditions from top of descent to this point were mostly continuous light chop as was reported to us to expect on the way into iad. The seatbelt sign was on and had been on for some time. As the intensity of the chop increased, I made a PA announcement for the flight attendants to take a seat. I was later informed that a flight attendant may have been injured, so we asked that paramedics meet the aircraft. Approach and landing uneventful. On arrival we asked maintenance to do a structural check of the aircraft.

Narrative: ON JASEN ARR INBOUND TO IAD, WE EXPERIENCED SEVERE TURB. THE TURB LASTED APPROX 30 SECONDS. OUR POS WAS INSIDE OF DOCCS INTXN DSNDING THROUGH ABOUT 9000 FT. OUR SPD WAS 250 KTS. THE FLT CONDITIONS FROM TOP OF DSCNT TO THIS POINT WERE MOSTLY CONTINUOUS LIGHT CHOP AS WAS RPTED TO US TO EXPECT ON THE WAY INTO IAD. THE SEATBELT SIGN WAS ON AND HAD BEEN ON FOR SOME TIME. AS THE INTENSITY OF THE CHOP INCREASED, I MADE A PA ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE FLT ATTENDANTS TO TAKE A SEAT. I WAS LATER INFORMED THAT A FLT ATTENDANT MAY HAVE BEEN INJURED, SO WE ASKED THAT PARAMEDICS MEET THE ACFT. APCH AND LNDG UNEVENTFUL. ON ARR WE ASKED MAINT TO DO A STRUCTURAL CHK OF THE ACFT.
