Narrative:
On completion of a planned, practice loop and while straight and level on a northerly heading, I observed what appeared to be a DC9 paralleling my course in straight and level flight at 5000 ft. Aircraft #2 pilots had a visual on me as well as they were discussing our location with omaha approach control during their vector for landing to the south at eppley airport, omaha, northeast. At no time did I observe the other aircraft take any evasive action nor did I, as neither aircraft had reason to do so. Omaha approach queried the other aircraft if he deviated from course and after a long silence, the other aircraft responded in the affirmative.

Narrative: ON COMPLETION OF A PLANNED, PRACTICE LOOP AND WHILE STRAIGHT AND LEVEL ON A NORTHERLY HDG, I OBSERVED WHAT APPEARED TO BE A DC9 PARALLELING MY COURSE IN STRAIGHT AND LEVEL FLT AT 5000 FT. ACFT #2 PLTS HAD A VISUAL ON ME AS WELL AS THEY WERE DISCUSSING OUR LOCATION WITH OMAHA APCH CTL DURING THEIR VECTOR FOR LNDG TO THE S AT EPPLEY ARPT, OMAHA, NE. AT NO TIME DID I OBSERVE THE OTHER ACFT TAKE ANY EVASIVE ACTION NOR DID I, AS NEITHER ACFT HAD REASON TO DO SO. OMAHA APCH QUERIED THE OTHER ACFT IF HE DEVIATED FROM COURSE AND AFTER A LONG SILENCE, THE OTHER ACFT RESPONDED IN THE AFFIRMATIVE.
