Narrative:
I was cleared to taxi for departure and to hold short of a crossing runway. As I rolled into the intersection, I realized what I had done and called ground control to tell them what I had done. Our company training has included heightened awareness of runway and taxiway incursions. Complacency and stupidity brought this on. I have been taxiing to this runway for many yrs, but the crosswind runway is little used. Habits are hard to break, but I doubt I will taxi anywhere from now on without recalling this incident.

Title: A PA31 ATP PLT EXPERIENCES A RWY INCURSION WHEN FORGETTING TO HOLD SHORT OF A XWIND RWY AS CLRED AT RAP, SD.
Narrative: I WAS CLRED TO TAXI FOR DEP AND TO HOLD SHORT OF A XING RWY. AS I ROLLED INTO THE INTXN, I REALIZED WHAT I HAD DONE AND CALLED GND CTL TO TELL THEM WHAT I HAD DONE. OUR COMPANY TRAINING HAS INCLUDED HEIGHTENED AWARENESS OF RWY AND TXWY INCURSIONS. COMPLACENCY AND STUPIDITY BROUGHT THIS ON. I HAVE BEEN TAXIING TO THIS RWY FOR MANY YRS, BUT THE XWIND RWY IS LITTLE USED. HABITS ARE HARD TO BREAK, BUT I DOUBT I WILL TAXI ANYWHERE FROM NOW ON WITHOUT RECALLING THIS INCIDENT.
