Narrative:
Departed ord-den runway 32L (T10). At approximately 1400 ft MSL, #2 generator tripped off line and #2 CSD low oil pressure light illuminated. Unable to return generator on-line. After clean-up, advised ATC that we may need to return to ord for mechanical and wanted to hold to work on problem. I was PNF. I ran irregular checklist and opted to contact dispatch and maintenance control as low oil pressure light was flickering on and off and CSD rise was not in yellow arc, prior to disconnecting CSD. While waiting to talk with company, I was able to power #2 generator off the APU. After discussing problem with dispatch, I elected to return to ord. #2 CSD was disconnected without a problem. Flight attendants and passenger were notified of problem and decision to return to ord. After burning fuel to legal landing weight, we landed on runway 27L without incident. Ord maintenance said CSD oil level was very low and svced/ran engine and flight continued to den without incident.
