Narrative:

For departures from runway 11 and on short final to runway 11, there is no visible windsock. Several pilots and flight instructors have asked why a windsock is not installed for safety. Callback conversation with bdr tower specialist revealed the following information: they did have a windsock located near the center of the airport. He also related the actual sock was recently replaced.

Title: A C182 PLT, DEPARTING LNDG RWY 11 AT BDR, IS UNABLE TO SEE ARPT WINDSOCK.

Narrative: FOR DEPS FROM RWY 11 AND ON SHORT FINAL TO RWY 11, THERE IS NO VISIBLE WINDSOCK. SEVERAL PLTS AND FLT INSTRUCTORS HAVE ASKED WHY A WINDSOCK IS NOT INSTALLED FOR SAFETY. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH BDR TWR SPECIALIST REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THEY DID HAVE A WINDSOCK LOCATED NEAR THE CENTER OF THE ARPT. HE ALSO RELATED THE ACTUAL SOCK WAS RECENTLY REPLACED.
