Narrative:
I noticed a fume (similar to the smell of an iron melting wax) developing in the aft cabin area. I contacted the #2 flight attendant in the aft jump seat and the #1 flight attendant in the front via the interphone and described the smell that occurred just at wheels up. All 3 flight attendants could smell the fumes. The #1 flight attendant contacted the cockpit during sterile and informed the captain and first officer (check airman). They indicated the same smell was apparent in the cockpit and corrected the problem with one of the air packs. Apparently recent maintenance had been performed on at least one of the air packs and possibly some residual oil was being burned off and ingested.

APPARENTLY RECENT MAINT HAD BEEN PERFORMED ON AT LEAST ONE OF THE AIR PACKS AND POSSIBLY SOME RESIDUAL OIL WAS BEING BURNED OFF AND INGESTED.
