Narrative:

On arrival into fra, fra arrival instructed flight direct etaru, etaru arrival. Crew read back instructions given after passing etaru intersection. Flight proceeded as published on STAR via the 304 degree radial to ffm VORTAC. Both pilots backed up INS with raw data 124 degrees inbound (needles centered). After passing etaru fra arrival instructed crew to fly present heading since we 'were not obviously following the etaru arrival.' captain replied we were tracking inbound on the 304 degree radial of ffm as published and instructed. Flight subsequently given radar vectors to final ILS runway 25L.

AFTER PASSING ETARU FRA ARR INSTRUCTED CREW TO FLY PRESENT HEADING SINCE WE 'WERE NOT OBVIOUSLY FOLLOWING THE ETARU ARR.' CAPT REPLIED WE WERE TRACKING INBOUND ON THE 304 DEG RADIAL OF FFM AS PUBLISHED AND INSTRUCTED. FLT SUBSEQUENTLY GIVEN RADAR VECTORS TO FINAL ILS RWY 25L.
