Narrative:
I was cleared for takeoff on runway 27L at fll. Just as I lifted off, the front passenger door opened. With plenty of runway remaining, I aborted takeoff and taxied off runway. Tower told me to taxi back to takeoff end of runway. I taxied to the east end of the runoff and took the position and hold position. Tower controller told me to exit runway because another aircraft was on final, which I did. She said that she did not give me the position and hold command. After other aircraft landed, controller gave me position and hold followed by takeoff. I should not have taken position and hold without confirming this when I arrived at the takeoff end of the runway. It would also have helped had she told me to hold short and that there was another aircraft on final.

Title: RWY INCURSION WHEN A LIGHT TWIN ATP PLT HAD TAXIED BACK FOR ANOTHER TKOF ATTEMPT AND MISUNDERSTOOD THE PHRASEOLOGY USED BY THE CTLR AT FLL, FL.
Narrative: I WAS CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 27L AT FLL. JUST AS I LIFTED OFF, THE FRONT PAX DOOR OPENED. WITH PLENTY OF RWY REMAINING, I ABORTED TKOF AND TAXIED OFF RWY. TWR TOLD ME TO TAXI BACK TO TKOF END OF RWY. I TAXIED TO THE E END OF THE RUNOFF AND TOOK THE POS AND HOLD POS. TWR CTLR TOLD ME TO EXIT RWY BECAUSE ANOTHER ACFT WAS ON FINAL, WHICH I DID. SHE SAID THAT SHE DID NOT GIVE ME THE POS AND HOLD COMMAND. AFTER OTHER ACFT LANDED, CTLR GAVE ME POS AND HOLD FOLLOWED BY TKOF. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN POS AND HOLD WITHOUT CONFIRMING THIS WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE TKOF END OF THE RWY. IT WOULD ALSO HAVE HELPED HAD SHE TOLD ME TO HOLD SHORT AND THAT THERE WAS ANOTHER ACFT ON FINAL.
