Narrative:
PA31-325 XXXX departed tpa en route spg. Entered right downwind for runway 36. Was cleared to land #2 behind C172 aircraft. Accomplished the before landing checklist, however, did not verify '3 green' via the gump check. During landing flare, a scraping sound was observed. Accomplished go around procedure, climbed out of environment and set up for second landing attempt. Accomplished full before landing checklist and procedures. Landed aircraft safely without any further incidents. Upon postflt walkaround, observed damage to propeller tips and lower VHF antenna. No other damage was observed.

Title: A NEAR GEAR UP LNDG DURING A NIGHT OP RESULTS IN A PROP STRIKE BY A CFI IN A PA31-325 RENTAL ACFT AT SPG, FL.
Narrative: PA31-325 XXXX DEPARTED TPA ENRTE SPG. ENTERED R DOWNWIND FOR RWY 36. WAS CLRED TO LAND #2 BEHIND C172 ACFT. ACCOMPLISHED THE BEFORE LNDG CHKLIST, HOWEVER, DID NOT VERIFY '3 GREEN' VIA THE GUMP CHK. DURING LNDG FLARE, A SCRAPING SOUND WAS OBSERVED. ACCOMPLISHED GAR PROC, CLBED OUT OF ENVIRONMENT AND SET UP FOR SECOND LNDG ATTEMPT. ACCOMPLISHED FULL BEFORE LNDG CHKLIST AND PROCS. LANDED ACFT SAFELY WITHOUT ANY FURTHER INCIDENTS. UPON POSTFLT WALKAROUND, OBSERVED DAMAGE TO PROP TIPS AND LOWER VHF ANTENNA. NO OTHER DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED.
