Narrative:
During level cruise flight, we received an amber EICAS caution message 'passenger de stow.' while consulting proper QRH, the message was replaced by a red EICAS warning message 'passenger door.' QRH for warning was initiated and during QRH, message disappeared. At this time no EICAS messages appeared. QRH was completed for door warning. (Note: pressurization was normal throughout entire flight, there were no abnormal noises noted by the flight attendant. The flight attendant verified all mechanical locks and indicators were in the proper position.) the crew contacted dispatch and maintenance control through company radio. All parties, crew dispatch, and maintenance agreed to diverting to ind (nearest suitable airport) even though the messages no longer appeared. Descent per the QRH and landing at ind was uneventful. No emergency was declared.
