Upon descent into den, attempted flap extension. EICAS message 'trailing edge flap disagree' illuminated, flaps did not extend. Captain declared emergency, advised flight attendants to prepare for evacuate/evacuation. Performed alternate flap/slat extension using trailing edge flap disagree irregular checklist, executed flap 20 degree landing.

Narrative: UPON DSCNT INTO DEN, ATTEMPTED FLAP EXTENSION. EICAS MESSAGE 'TRAILING EDGE FLAP DISAGREE' ILLUMINATED, FLAPS DID NOT EXTEND.
