Narrative:
After canceling flight plan with palm beach approach, we proceeded to practice single engine lndgs at F45. On the second pattern on downwind I proceeded to pull the student's right engine. After going through the procedure we turned base and the student started the first gump check. We turned about a 2 1/2 mi final due to the engine failure procedures. While on final there was a call of traffic on base. I proceeded to look for the traffic and when I looked forward again we were approaching the threshold. I began pointing out to the student where to look to ensure a smooth landing when I noticed we were excessively low. I then proceeded to pull the mixtures back to idle cutoff and to ensure a safe landing. As I look back on the incident, I could have prevented the situation by making one last extra check of the gear as I refocused my attention on the landing. In all, I learned that accidents still do happen and can occur at any time, place, or situation.

Title: A PA44 INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT FORGOT TO LOWER THE LNDG GEAR AND LANDED GEAR UP WHILE PRACTICING SINGLE ENG LNDGS.

AFTER GOING THROUGH THE PROC WE TURNED BASE AND THE STUDENT STARTED THE FIRST GUMP CHK. WE TURNED ABOUT A 2 1/2 MI FINAL DUE TO THE ENG FAILURE PROCS. WHILE ON FINAL THERE WAS A CALL OF TFC ON BASE. I PROCEEDED TO LOOK FOR THE TFC AND WHEN I LOOKED FORWARD AGAIN WE WERE APCHING THE THRESHOLD. I BEGAN POINTING OUT TO THE STUDENT WHERE TO LOOK TO ENSURE A SMOOTH LNDG WHEN I NOTICED WE WERE EXCESSIVELY LOW. I THEN PROCEEDED TO PULL THE MIXTURES BACK TO IDLE CUTOFF AND TO ENSURE A SAFE LNDG. AS I LOOK BACK ON THE INCIDENT, I COULD HAVE PREVENTED THE SIT BY MAKING ONE LAST EXTRA CHK OF THE GEAR AS I REFOCUSED MY ATTN ON THE LNDG. IN ALL, I LEARNED THAT ACCIDENTS STILL DO HAPPEN AND CAN OCCUR AT ANY TIME, PLACE, OR SIT.
