Narrative:
On departure, gear would not retract, checked QRH for a checklist for problem, none was found. Check cockpit for gear pins. All 3 pins were accounted for. Recycled gear to see if possible sensor glitch, still would not retract. With handle down, we had 3 green down and locked lights. Returned to ZZZ for landing, normal, but overweight. Maintenance sum: flight was canceled. Aircraft was maintenance ferried to ZZZ1. Maintenance placed aircraft on jacks, cycled gear and found gear retraction normal. Found red unsafe light indication problem. Troubleshot to intermitting S3 switch on the left autothrottle switch pack. Right/right switch pack per maintenance manual. Cycled gear several times. All operations check and indications normal. Performed overweight landing inspection with no defects found. Aircraft okay for service.
