Narrative:
Assigned the stanfield one departure off runway 25L at phx. During preflight brief the specifics of the departure were discussed in detail, mentioning the climb to 1550 ft, then continue the climb to 7000 ft with a left turn to 240 degrees, followed by a left turn to 140 degrees at 9 phx DME. In the crew takeoff brief during taxi I stated, 'it will be the stanfield departure to 7000 ft with a left turn at 1550 ft.' this statement, along with the remainder of the brief items, was concurred with by the co-captain/PNF. After takeoff and climbing out of 1550 ft I turned left to 140 degrees. Shortly thereafter we were handed off to departure control. Approximately 1-2 mins after radar and communication with departure, the controller asked us for our heading. PNF responded '140,' controller then asked if we went to the 9 DME before turning. PNF responded 'that's what we show.' controller responded, 'more like off the end of the runway.' PNF then responded, 'ok...our mistake, sorry.' controller's last 'non-control' comment was 'good thing there were no airplanes out there.' remainder of flight was uneventful. Obviously, we turned approximately 4-5 mi early. We were looking at a developing thunderstorm that was about 15-20 NM southwest of the airport and were flying into blowing dust by the time we started the turn. Turbulence was negative and surface winds were calm. I clearly forgot the 9 DME portion of the departure procedure during the takeoff brief, as did the PNF. The PF, PNF and the local controller failed to notice the in-flight error. While I don't recall feeling rushed, I was aware of another aircraft taxiing behind us for departure on the same runway. In the future I will try to insure takeoff briefings be conducted only with the aircraft stopped and the departure procedure in front of me while briefing or re-briefing. Careful attention must also be paid to insure the takeoff brief is detailed 'every time' in regards to navigation items as well as procedures and, that the PNF is actually 'listening' to as well as 'hearing' the brief.

OBVIOUSLY, WE TURNED APPROX 4-5 MI EARLY. WE WERE LOOKING AT A DEVELOPING TSTM THAT WAS ABOUT 15-20 NM SW OF THE ARPT AND WERE FLYING INTO BLOWING DUST BY THE TIME WE STARTED THE TURN. TURB WAS NEGATIVE AND SURFACE WINDS WERE CALM. I CLRLY FORGOT THE 9 DME PORTION OF THE DEP PROC DURING THE TKOF BRIEF, AS DID THE PNF. THE PF, PNF AND THE LCL CTLR FAILED TO NOTICE THE INFLT ERROR. WHILE I DON'T RECALL FEELING RUSHED, I WAS AWARE OF ANOTHER ACFT TAXIING BEHIND US FOR DEP ON THE SAME RWY. IN THE FUTURE I WILL TRY TO INSURE TKOF BRIEFINGS BE CONDUCTED ONLY WITH THE ACFT STOPPED AND THE DEP PROC IN FRONT OF ME WHILE BRIEFING OR RE-BRIEFING. CAREFUL ATTN MUST ALSO BE PAID TO INSURE THE TKOF BRIEF IS DETAILED 'EVERY TIME' IN REGARDS TO NAV ITEMS AS WELL AS PROCS AND, THAT THE PNF IS ACTUALLY 'LISTENING' TO AS WELL AS 'HEARING' THE BRIEF.
