Narrative:
Training was being conducted at the gsh sector, ZAU. Trainee climbed air carrier X, which was ok, but descended air carrier Y. I didn't hear him descend the air carrier Y, but saw it in the data block. I asked him if he descended the air carrier Y but did not wait for him to reply. I tried to stop the air carrier Y at 14000 ft and the air carrier X at 13000 ft. Air carrier Y wanted to question the descent, stating he had already been cleared to 11000 ft. Gave the clearance again, however, he had gone through the altitude and climbed back up.

Title: ARTCC TRAINEE CTLR INADVERTENTLY DSNDED A COMMUTER JET THROUGH ANOTHER COMMUTER ACFT'S CLBING ALT WITH LESS THAN 5 MI SEPARATION.
Narrative: TRAINING WAS BEING CONDUCTED AT THE GSH SECTOR, ZAU. TRAINEE CLBED ACR X, WHICH WAS OK, BUT DSNDED ACR Y. I DIDN'T HEAR HIM DSND THE ACR Y, BUT SAW IT IN THE DATA BLOCK. I ASKED HIM IF HE DSNDED THE ACR Y BUT DID NOT WAIT FOR HIM TO REPLY. I TRIED TO STOP THE ACR Y AT 14000 FT AND THE ACR X AT 13000 FT. ACR Y WANTED TO QUESTION THE DSCNT, STATING HE HAD ALREADY BEEN CLRED TO 11000 FT. GAVE THE CLRNC AGAIN, HOWEVER, HE HAD GONE THROUGH THE ALT AND CLBED BACK UP.
