Narrative:
Departing runway 01 at dca, complied with noise abatement climb procedure. Tower instructed us to turn left immediately, no heading reference given, and check transponder on. I turned left as instructed and captain recycled transponder. Contacted department and copied a phone number. On arrival at destination, were met by FAA, secret service and chief pilot. They informed us we were close to prohibited airspace P56.

Title: B737-300 FLC UNKNOWINGLY ENTERED PROHIBITED AIRSPACE P56 DURING INITIAL CLIMB FROM RWY 01 AT DCA.
Narrative: DEPARTING RWY 01 AT DCA, COMPLIED WITH NOISE ABATEMENT CLIMB PROCEDURE. TWR INSTRUCTED US TO TURN L IMMEDIATELY, NO HEADING REFERENCE GIVEN, AND CHK TRANSPONDER ON. I TURNED L AS INSTRUCTED AND CAPT RECYCLED TRANSPONDER. CONTACTED DEPT AND COPIED A PHONE NUMBER. ON ARRIVAL AT DEST, WERE MET BY FAA, SECRET SERVICE AND CHIEF PLT. THEY INFORMED US WE WERE CLOSE TO PROHIBITED AIRSPACE P56.
