Narrative:
I am a private pilot based in ZZZ. The WX at the time varied from 3500 broken to 4000 ovc with light scattered rain. We flew in the area just north of ZZZ1 on a sightseeing tour. We then flew north along the canal. Due to lowering cloud ceiling we turned northeast intending to turn back towards ZZZ2 due to the deteriorating WX. I was using a current VFR terminal area chart for navigation at the time which did not indicate restr airspace in the immediate milfac area. I completed turning back towards ZZZ2 and flew in a southernly direction. On approach I was informed to contact ZZZ3 approach control regarding a flight plan deviation. I was informed that I had flown into a tfr. After closing my flight plan I went on-line to check current NOTAMS and realized I had failed to note the tfr surrounding ZZZ4 areas. My lack of flying time, my failure to thoroughly research for NOTAMS affecting my flight, and unfamiliarity with the area were major factors which contributed to my violation. I thought I was prepared for a safe flight, but realize that with the new security measures that have been implemented I need to research any future flts more thoroughly and not deviate from a flight plan. I am embarrassed that I failed to properly prepare for this flight.

Title: UNAUTH PENETRATION OF A TFR NEAR A PWR PLANT BY A C172 PVT PLT ON A SIGHTSEEING TOUR OFF FREQ WITH APCH CTLR AT ZZZ3, US.
Narrative: I AM A PRIVATE PLT BASED IN ZZZ. THE WX AT THE TIME VARIED FROM 3500 BKN TO 4000 OVC WITH LIGHT SCATTERED RAIN. WE FLEW IN THE AREA JUST N OF ZZZ1 ON A SIGHTSEEING TOUR. WE THEN FLEW N ALONG THE CANAL. DUE TO LOWERING CLOUD CEILING WE TURNED NE INTENDING TO TURN BACK TOWARDS ZZZ2 DUE TO THE DETERIORATING WX. ON APCH I WAS INFORMED TO CONTACT ZZZ3 APCH CTL REGARDING A FLT PLAN DEVIATION. I WAS INFORMED THAT I HAD FLOWN INTO A TFR. AFTER CLOSING MY FLT PLAN I WENT ON-LINE TO CHK CURRENT NOTAMS AND REALIZED I HAD FAILED TO NOTE THE TFR SURROUNDING ZZZ4 AREAS. MY LACK OF FLYING TIME, MY FAILURE TO THOROUGHLY RESEARCH FOR NOTAMS AFFECTING MY FLT, AND UNFAMILIARITY WITH THE AREA WERE MAJOR FACTORS WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO MY VIOLATION. I THOUGHT I WAS PREPARED FOR A SAFE FLT, BUT REALIZE THAT WITH THE NEW SECURITY MEASURES THAT HAVE BEEN IMPLEMENTED I NEED TO RESEARCH ANY FUTURE FLTS MORE THOROUGHLY AND NOT DEVIATE FROM A FLT PLAN. I AM EMBARRASSED THAT I FAILED TO PROPERLY PREPARE FOR THIS FLT.
