Narrative:
While taxiing for departure, lighting and markings at the airport combined with poor progressive instructions, I ended up taxiing beyond the hold short line. As soon as I realized that I was not in the correct place, I advised ground control. She had me continue to taxi onto the runway and clear at the next exit to the left. She also told another approaching aircraft to be prepared to go around. (That was not necessary.) the next attempt to get me to the desired runway went without incident. The controller's comment to me was that I was not the only pilot to have trouble taxiing to that runway at that particular intersection. Azo needs to improve instructions given to pilots and improve markings and lighting.

Narrative: WHILE TAXIING FOR DEP, LIGHTING AND MARKINGS AT THE ARPT COMBINED WITH POOR PROGRESSIVE INSTRUCTIONS, I ENDED UP TAXIING BEYOND THE HOLD SHORT LINE. AS SOON AS I REALIZED THAT I WAS NOT IN THE CORRECT PLACE, I ADVISED GND CTL. SHE HAD ME CONTINUE TO TAXI ONTO THE RWY AND CLR AT THE NEXT EXIT TO THE L. SHE ALSO TOLD ANOTHER APCHING ACFT TO BE PREPARED TO GO AROUND. (THAT WAS NOT NECESSARY.) THE NEXT ATTEMPT TO GET ME TO THE DESIRED RWY WENT WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE CTLR'S COMMENT TO ME WAS THAT I WAS NOT THE ONLY PLT TO HAVE TROUBLE TAXIING TO THAT RWY AT THAT PARTICULAR INTXN. AZO NEEDS TO IMPROVE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN TO PLTS AND IMPROVE MARKINGS AND LIGHTING.
