Narrative:
Landed on runway 22 new bern, nc. Taxied clear and contacted ground control on taxiway a. Was directed to taxi and hold short of runway 13. We acknowledged hold short instructions. I became distraction discussing the approach with the first officer. I was reminded by the ground controller to hold short of runway 13. We came to a stop just past the hold short line, but still short of the runway. The other aircraft (C150) was just beginning takeoff. We were fortunate that the ground controller was paying close attention to the situation. No one was endangered, but I learned an important lesson.
