Narrative:
Misread takeoff performance settings. We were planned for a maximum improved takeoff with APU for bleeds. The load dropped off significantly and we saw that the v-spds were a lot lower, so we requested another tps, which we received. While taxiing to runway 35, the first officer reviewed the new tps and said (as part of his briefing) 'bleeds on.' we took off maximum power, 15 degrees flaps, and bleeds on. En route, I was reviewing the tps and discovered that the bleed field said 'APU' just like to original tps. I thus discovered that we had taken off overweight for the bleed confign that we used. The 2 causal items that I can identify were the fact that I did not review the new tps myself, relying on the first officer's interpretation and the fact that ACARS generated tps's are in a slightly different format. The first officer said he had read the wrong line.
