Narrative:
En route from gso to lga, while on descent, we noticed a strong odor of smoke. We immediately declared an emergency and began a descent and donned oxygen masks. At this point, we began to troubleshoot. While on a vector to phl, we encountered moderate to severe turbulence and requested ATC vectors east to acy. At this point, we were down to standby instruments. We set up for the approach and landed uneventfully and evacuate/evacuationed.
