Narrative:
We landed on wy 18C. All landing indications and landing were normal -- smooth landing, very little brakes, light aircraft. We turned off high speed and were told to call ground. When approximately 1/2 way through the turn onto taxiway C, the aircraft stopped on its own due to possible locked brake. We immediately contacted ground once frequency was clear -- almost immediately. At this point, the brake released. We were at a ground speed of less than approximately 3 mph when brakes stopped the aircraft. Ground was informed immediately, the turn to taxiway C is about 130 degrees. We were in the turn when aircraft stopped. Normal after release. The aircraft was making the turn to taxiway C from the high speed.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A DC10 AFTER LNDG AND DURING A TURN EXPERIENCED A BRAKES LOCK UP AT ABOUT 30 MPH. AFTER RPTING TO TWR THE BRAKES, ON THEIR OWN, RELEASED AND REMAINED NORMAL. CAUSE UNKNOWN.
Narrative: WE LANDED ON WY 18C. ALL LNDG INDICATIONS AND LNDG WERE NORMAL -- SMOOTH LNDG, VERY LITTLE BRAKES, LIGHT ACFT. WE TURNED OFF HIGH SPD AND WERE TOLD TO CALL GND. WHEN APPROX 1/2 WAY THROUGH THE TURN ONTO TXWY C, THE ACFT STOPPED ON ITS OWN DUE TO POSSIBLE LOCKED BRAKE. WE IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED GND ONCE FREQ WAS CLR -- ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. AT THIS POINT, THE BRAKE RELEASED. WE WERE AT A GND SPD OF LESS THAN APPROX 3 MPH WHEN BRAKES STOPPED THE ACFT. GND WAS INFORMED IMMEDIATELY, THE TURN TO TXWY C IS ABOUT 130 DEGS. WE WERE IN THE TURN WHEN ACFT STOPPED. NORMAL AFTER RELEASE. THE ACFT WAS MAKING THE TURN TO TXWY C FROM THE HIGH SPD.
