Narrative:

It is becoming more common for flight attendant's to knock on the cockpit door when delivering meals, etc. This creates the mindset where habit begins to override procedure and looking through the peep hole is not accomplished to verify who is knocking. It also sends the message to any passenger observing this to deduce a simple knock will afford access to the cockpit. I encourage the creation and distribution to all pilots and flight attendants a message reinforcing the need to call and confirm your desire to enter the flight deck rather than the easier and simpler knock on the door.
