Narrative:
On the above data and time, we were operating aircraft X from cvg to mdt. The WX at harrisburg was clear skies and 10 mi visibility. Harrisburg approach cleared us for the visual to runway 31. We entered a left downwind at 2200 ft MSL (which was 1900 ft AGL). While on downwind, we received a 'terrain, terrain,' 'pull up, pull up' aural warning. We immediately initiated a climb until the aural warning disappeared. We leveled off at 3000 ft MSL. 2 mins later, we landed with no further aural warning. During the above event, harrisburg approach did not question our altitude climb from 2200 ft to 3000 ft, after being cleared for the visual. In addition, safety was not compromised, no FARS intentionally violated, and no other aircraft were in the traffic pattern.

Title: A CL60 CREW, ON DOWNWIND TO MDT, RECEIVED A GPWS WARNING, 'TERRAIN, TERRAIN,' WITH A 'PULL UP' COMMAND.
Narrative: ON THE ABOVE DATA AND TIME, WE WERE OPERATING ACFT X FROM CVG TO MDT. THE WX AT HARRISBURG WAS CLR SKIES AND 10 MI VISIBILITY. HARRISBURG APCH CLRED US FOR THE VISUAL TO RWY 31. WE ENTERED A L DOWNWIND AT 2200 FT MSL (WHICH WAS 1900 FT AGL). WHILE ON DOWNWIND, WE RECEIVED A 'TERRAIN, TERRAIN,' 'PULL UP, PULL UP' AURAL WARNING. WE IMMEDIATELY INITIATED A CLB UNTIL THE AURAL WARNING DISAPPEARED. WE LEVELED OFF AT 3000 FT MSL. 2 MINS LATER, WE LANDED WITH NO FURTHER AURAL WARNING. DURING THE ABOVE EVENT, HARRISBURG APCH DID NOT QUESTION OUR ALT CLB FROM 2200 FT TO 3000 FT, AFTER BEING CLRED FOR THE VISUAL. IN ADDITION, SAFETY WAS NOT COMPROMISED, NO FARS INTENTIONALLY VIOLATED, AND NO OTHER ACFT WERE IN THE TFC PATTERN.
