Narrative:

We were cleared to taxi to runway 8 via txwys D and east with hold short of runway 13 at taxiway east instructions given. As we taxied to runway 8, we were accomplishing normal checks and reviewing WX as thunderstorms were all around the field. When we approached runway 13, I came inside as the PNF to review the checklist and at that time we rolled through the intersection of taxiway east and runway 13. I heard tower issue a go around to a cessna on short final and looked up to see we had gone through the intersection. As captain and PNF I should have stayed outside to make sure PF was adhering to the clearance. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that he realizes that he should have waited to continue checklist until assurance that the runway hold short was adhered to. He stated that the routine communication/coordination was made after he received and acknowledged the hold short instruction with the first officer taxiing the aircraft.

Title: CESSNA 580 FO TAXIED ACROSS RWY TO WHICH HE WAS INSTRUCTED TO HOLD SHORT DURING TAXI OUT.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO TAXI TO RWY 8 VIA TXWYS D AND E WITH HOLD SHORT OF RWY 13 AT TXWY E INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN. AS WE TAXIED TO RWY 8, WE WERE ACCOMPLISHING NORMAL CHKS AND REVIEWING WX AS TSTMS WERE ALL AROUND THE FIELD. WHEN WE APCHED RWY 13, I CAME INSIDE AS THE PNF TO REVIEW THE CHKLIST AND AT THAT TIME WE ROLLED THROUGH THE INTXN OF TXWY E AND RWY 13. I HEARD TWR ISSUE A GAR TO A CESSNA ON SHORT FINAL AND LOOKED UP TO SEE WE HAD GONE THROUGH THE INTXN. AS CAPT AND PNF I SHOULD HAVE STAYED OUTSIDE TO MAKE SURE PF WAS ADHERING TO THE CLRNC. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT HE REALIZES THAT HE SHOULD HAVE WAITED TO CONTINUE CHKLIST UNTIL ASSURANCE THAT THE RWY HOLD SHORT WAS ADHERED TO. HE STATED THAT THE ROUTINE COM/COORD WAS MADE AFTER HE RECEIVED AND ACKNOWLEDGED THE HOLD SHORT INSTRUCTION WITH THE FO TAXIING THE ACFT.
