Narrative:
Precautionary return to okc. Approximately 2 mins after takeoff, the left bleed duct warning and caution message illuminated. We leveled off at 5000 ft and reviewed the environmental control system synoptic page and the left and xover bleed lines indicated red. After approximately 1 min, the red left bleed duct warning message went out and the left bleed duct caution message remained. We requested a precautionary return to okc due to a bleed air problem. We consulted the aircraft flight manual and followed the procedures outlined in the emergency section. Several attempts to re-establish bleed air were unsuccessful because the engine bleed valves would not open. I instructed the first officer to inform the flight attendants and make a PA about our return to okc. ATC asked if we needed crash fire rescue equipment, and I advised them I would like to have them standing by just as a precautionary measure only. A normal landing was made and we taxied to the gate where the passenger were contacted and advised of the situation and of our return to okc.

Title: CRJ CREW HAD AN EICAS WARNING OF AN OVERHEATED L BLEED DUCT.
Narrative: PRECAUTIONARY RETURN TO OKC. APPROX 2 MINS AFTER TKOF, THE L BLEED DUCT WARNING AND CAUTION MESSAGE ILLUMINATED. WE LEVELED OFF AT 5000 FT AND REVIEWED THE ENVIRONMENTAL CTL SYS SYNOPTIC PAGE AND THE L AND XOVER BLEED LINES INDICATED RED. AFTER APPROX 1 MIN, THE RED L BLEED DUCT WARNING MESSAGE WENT OUT AND THE L BLEED DUCT CAUTION MESSAGE REMAINED. WE REQUESTED A PRECAUTIONARY RETURN TO OKC DUE TO A BLEED AIR PROB. WE CONSULTED THE ACFT FLT MANUAL AND FOLLOWED THE PROCS OUTLINED IN THE EMER SECTION. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO RE-ESTABLISH BLEED AIR WERE UNSUCCESSFUL BECAUSE THE ENG BLEED VALVES WOULD NOT OPEN. I INSTRUCTED THE FO TO INFORM THE FLT ATTENDANTS AND MAKE A PA ABOUT OUR RETURN TO OKC. ATC ASKED IF WE NEEDED CFR, AND I ADVISED THEM I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEM STANDING BY JUST AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE ONLY. A NORMAL LNDG WAS MADE AND WE TAXIED TO THE GATE WHERE THE PAX WERE CONTACTED AND ADVISED OF THE SIT AND OF OUR RETURN TO OKC.
