Narrative:
We were given frequency change to 125.2 and we checked in and received a reply from center that they acknowledged our check-in. About 3-5 mins later, center came on and said that they were waiting for us to check in (in a condescending voice). We told the controller that we had already checked in and he had acknowledged us and his response was, 'no captain, you did not check in with me, I had to call the previous frequency to tell them to send you over.' my first officer informed him that, yes we did check in and he acknowledged our check-in. The controller, in a very confrontational voice, replied 'no, captain, you did not check in with me and I'll pull the tape to prove it to you.' at which point I got on the radio and said 'well, somebody on this frequency acknowledged our check-in.' both my first officer and I believe that we did check in on that frequency and we did get an acknowledgement from the controller. After listening to his attitude toward us, we felt like we needed to submit a report as soon as possible.

Title: ZOB ARTCC CTLR DISPLAYS A VERY UNPROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE ESTABLISHING COMS WITH AN F100 FLC.
Narrative: WE WERE GIVEN FREQ CHANGE TO 125.2 AND WE CHKED IN AND RECEIVED A REPLY FROM CTR THAT THEY ACKNOWLEDGED OUR CHK-IN. ABOUT 3-5 MINS LATER, CTR CAME ON AND SAID THAT THEY WERE WAITING FOR US TO CHK IN (IN A CONDESCENDING VOICE). WE TOLD THE CTLR THAT WE HAD ALREADY CHKED IN AND HE HAD ACKNOWLEDGED US AND HIS RESPONSE WAS, 'NO CAPT, YOU DID NOT CHK IN WITH ME, I HAD TO CALL THE PREVIOUS FREQ TO TELL THEM TO SEND YOU OVER.' MY FO INFORMED HIM THAT, YES WE DID CHK IN AND HE ACKNOWLEDGED OUR CHK-IN. THE CTLR, IN A VERY CONFRONTATIONAL VOICE, REPLIED 'NO, CAPT, YOU DID NOT CHK IN WITH ME AND I'LL PULL THE TAPE TO PROVE IT TO YOU.' AT WHICH POINT I GOT ON THE RADIO AND SAID 'WELL, SOMEBODY ON THIS FREQ ACKNOWLEDGED OUR CHK-IN.' BOTH MY FO AND I BELIEVE THAT WE DID CHK IN ON THAT FREQ AND WE DID GET AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FROM THE CTLR. AFTER LISTENING TO HIS ATTITUDE TOWARD US, WE FELT LIKE WE NEEDED TO SUBMIT A RPT ASAP.
