Narrative:
Aircraft landed overweight as a result of declaring an emergency after takeoff from ord and returning for immediate landing because of smoke in the cockpit. Approximately aircraft weight 44200 pounds, sink rate at touchdown was 200 FPM, and the landing was considered soft. Log entry made and aircraft turned over to maintenance.

Title: EMB146 ACFT HAS SMOKE IN COCKPIT, CREW DECLARED EMER.
Narrative: ACFT LANDED OVERWT AS A RESULT OF DECLARING AN EMER AFTER TKOF FROM ORD AND RETURNING FOR IMMEDIATE LNDG BECAUSE OF SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT. APPROX ACFT WT 44200 LBS, SINK RATE AT TOUCHDOWN WAS 200 FPM, AND THE LNDG WAS CONSIDERED SOFT. LOG ENTRY MADE AND ACFT TURNED OVER TO MAINT.
