Narrative:
Immediately after takeoff, both crew members noticed a strong unusual odor in cockpit. Flight attendants reported smoke/haze in cabin. Declared an emergency and returned to las for an uneventful landing. Smoke/haze dissipated during approach. After clearing runway, airport rescue/fire fighters reported nothing unusual upon exterior inspection. Taxied to gate and passenger deplaned. No known injuries to passenger or crew members.

Title: MD80 FLC REPORTED SMOKE AND FUMES IN COCKPIT AFTER TKOF. EMER DECLARED.
Narrative: IMMEDIATELY AFTER TKOF, BOTH CREW MEMBERS NOTICED A STRONG UNUSUAL ODOR IN COCKPIT. FLT ATTENDANTS RPTED SMOKE/HAZE IN CABIN. DECLARED AN EMER AND RETURNED TO LAS FOR AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG. SMOKE/HAZE DISSIPATED DURING APCH. AFTER CLRING RWY, ARPT RESCUE/FIRE FIGHTERS RPTED NOTHING UNUSUAL UPON EXTERIOR INSPECTION. TAXIED TO GATE AND PAX DEPLANED.
