Narrative:
On wed, assembled CASX271 to CASX234 with the understanding that assembly of parts was temporary for the purpose of back drilling welded holes in CASX234 attach flange. I have to note that this has been a common practice between shops. There was even a line on the shop order to subsequently remove 271. Later learned that assembly was fully riveted together. On fri, checked computer for part. Was in work final 244-6. The following mon, I was made aware that assembly was to be used in an engine pending an engineering approval. My concern is that steps in the process may have been skipped. It is my responsibility to see that parts belong together and parts are complete up to that point.
