Narrative:

Abc and I were waxing the vertical stabilizer on the aircraft's left side. I was operating the smaller of the 2 genie man-lifts. I lowered the basket to allow me to step out onto the horizontal stabilizer. At the root of the stabilizer I had enough clearance, but as I swung outward from the aircraft I lost clearance due to the upward slant of the stabilizer and my lift came in contact with the left elevator of the aircraft, putting an approximately 1/8 inch by 1/8 inch hole in the elevator. My lead appearance technician was notified along with the hangar foreman, and the elevator was declared repairable and was fixed.
