Narrative:
Engine failure message on landing. On landing at dfw, I went into reverse thrust and on rollout the MFDU displayed an engine 1 failure. All engine indications seemed to be normal. As a precaution, we taxied to the gate with both engines running and completed a normal engine shutdown and wrote the engine up. No other problems were noted. Today, I looked up the maintenance log to see if the problem was fixed, and discovered that the problem had recurred on later flts.
