Narrative:

On taxi out in mem, we were instructed by ground control to taxi to runway 35 for departure. We were running the visual checklists and I was setting up for departure. The captain stopped the aircraft short of what he thought was the runway, and I stated just as he set the brake 'hey, where are the hold short lines?' they were behind us. They were not in the usual position, perpendicular to the runway, due to the runway being a temporary set-up as a result of construction. The captain, who was taxiing, was not paying attention, and I was busy looking at the departure procedure, etc. He should have been paying attention, and I should have been heads up as well.
