Narrative:
Plane has manual and yoke power trim activated by thumb. During preflight, I set trim for takeoff. At rotation speed, aircraft would not fly. Not knowing problem, I aborted takeoff, hard braking, skidded and blew out right main tire. The flat tire caused the plane to pull right and I stopped just off runway in the grass. No damage to plane. Inspection showed trim in full nose down position. At some point, my thumb must have pushed on the power trim button during taxi, preflight or takeoff roll. To correct, rechk trim before and during takeoff.
