Narrative:
First officer lost reliable instrument readings. Not knowing if the capts had failed deviated from altitude to remain VMC, 5000 ft to 4000 ft. Discovered first officer readings were unreliable and, suspecting that captain's were not doing that great, declared emergency and landed back at anchorage. Talked with departure control on landing and was informed there was no problem.
