Narrative:

Aircraft arrived in ZZZ for scheduled A2 check and other maintenance. #2 engine had an alert for low duct pressure. #2 engine core cowls were opened to troubleshoot and perform maintenance. High stage regulator was changed and cowls closed, but not latched, engine was run to perform A2 leak check requirements. During the engine run, the cowls partially opened. I instructed to shut down #2 engine. After shutdown an engine inspection was performed and damage to core cowl insulation blankets were found. Insulator blankets were removed and replaced on sep/sun/02.
