Narrative:
After getting clearance, went to ground and was told to taxi runway 27. I requested runway 36 but someone else came on and stated runway 27 was more in line with direction of flight. I mistakenly taxied toward runway 9 crossing runway 36 because the compounding effect also had me thinking I was cleared to cross. There were several contributors to this mistake. I had finished an important assignment earlier that morning by getting up early and going to client's site. This gave me only 4 hours rest. I was in too much of a rush to meet an XA30 deadline in vero beach, my destination. My head wasn't in the cockpit while performing this taxi operation -- it was elsewhere. Ground control was confusing when I first called up and received instruction. I read back 'taxi runway 27.' someone else chimed in requesting readback of runway. When I did that he issued another runway. Guess he was having a bad day also because he was the one refusing to give me runway 36 which is my normal departure runway. From runway 36, it is a simple climb out of climbing right turn to join V3 where from runway 27 it's a longer climbing left turn.

Title: PIPER PA28 PLT INADVERTENTLY BECAME DISORIENTED AND DID NOT FOLLOW ASSIGNED TAXI OUT RTE RESULTING IN XING A RWY WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: AFTER GETTING CLRNC, WENT TO GND AND WAS TOLD TO TAXI RWY 27. I REQUESTED RWY 36 BUT SOMEONE ELSE CAME ON AND STATED RWY 27 WAS MORE IN LINE WITH DIRECTION OF FLT. I MISTAKENLY TAXIED TOWARD RWY 9 XING RWY 36 BECAUSE THE COMPOUNDING EFFECT ALSO HAD ME THINKING I WAS CLRED TO CROSS. THERE WERE SEVERAL CONTRIBUTORS TO THIS MISTAKE. I HAD FINISHED AN IMPORTANT ASSIGNMENT EARLIER THAT MORNING BY GETTING UP EARLY AND GOING TO CLIENT'S SITE. THIS GAVE ME ONLY 4 HRS REST. I WAS IN TOO MUCH OF A RUSH TO MEET AN XA30 DEADLINE IN VERO BEACH, MY DEST. MY HEAD WASN'T IN THE COCKPIT WHILE PERFORMING THIS TAXI OP -- IT WAS ELSEWHERE. GND CTL WAS CONFUSING WHEN I FIRST CALLED UP AND RECEIVED INSTRUCTION. I READ BACK 'TAXI RWY 27.' SOMEONE ELSE CHIMED IN REQUESTING READBACK OF RWY. WHEN I DID THAT HE ISSUED ANOTHER RWY. GUESS HE WAS HAVING A BAD DAY ALSO BECAUSE HE WAS THE ONE REFUSING TO GIVE ME RWY 36 WHICH IS MY NORMAL DEP RWY. FROM RWY 36, IT IS A SIMPLE CLBOUT OF CLBING R TURN TO JOIN V3 WHERE FROM RWY 27 IT'S A LONGER CLBING L TURN.
