Narrative:
Dispatched with fuel in center tank, including 1000 pounds for payload for center tank pumps awaiting inspection. With no other indications to alert other than overhead quantity gauges, we were distraction from monitoring by frequency changes and turbulence/ride reports and used that 1000 pounds of fuel in the climb. Pumps were turned off. No problems noted. Reported to company.

Narrative: DISPATCHED WITH FUEL IN CTR TANK, INCLUDING 1000 LBS FOR PAYLOAD FOR CTR TANK PUMPS AWAITING INSPECTION. WITH NO OTHER INDICATIONS TO ALERT OTHER THAN OVERHEAD QUANTITY GAUGES, WE WERE DISTR FROM MONITORING BY FREQ CHANGES AND TURB/RIDE RPTS AND USED THAT 1000 LBS OF FUEL IN THE CLB.
