Narrative:
Trainee descended DC9 from 10000 ft to 8000 ft without allowing enough spacing for en route BE33 at 9000 ft. Instructor had to take over and vector both aircraft to insure separation.

Title: TRAINEE AT MEM APCH DSNDED A DC9 THROUGH AN OCCUPIED ALT REQUIRING THE INSTRUCTOR TO INTERVENE IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN SEPARATION.
Narrative: TRAINEE DSNDED DC9 FROM 10000 FT TO 8000 FT WITHOUT ALLOWING ENOUGH SPACING FOR ENRTE BE33 AT 9000 FT. INSTRUCTOR HAD TO TAKE OVER AND VECTOR BOTH ACFT TO INSURE SEPARATION.
