Narrative:
Approach notified that cgf was using runway 24. WX favored runway 6 which was requested. Approach gave updated WX report and notified runway 24 was active. Based on WX, runway 24 was favored and requested. Approach vectored us for ILS runway 24 cgf and intercepted the localizer. We were #2 for the approach. Once visual contact with cgf, we were cleared for visual. Handoff to tower was made, aircraft position was reported, tower cleared us to land. Normal landing. Tower notified that runway 6 was the runway which landing was cleared for. No other events occurred. In the future to avoid this situation, more care should be made or taken to confirm positive communications and minimal confusion. Supplemental information from acn 564660: cleveland came back to us and said the 'tower said you can have runway 6 or runway 24.' we then told approach we would stay with runway 24. Approach said 'ok, you are cleared ILS runway 24.' we broke out of layer at about 1800 ft, called field in sight. Approach said 'cleared visual runway 24, contact tower.' we made contact with tower. Tower said, 'cleared to land.' we landed on runway 24. On rollout, tower said, 'you were cleared to land on runway 6.' at no time do the captain or I recall runway 6 being mentioned by the tower!
