Narrative:
Performed a precautionary shutdown of the #1 engine due to low oil pressure readings. Declared an emergency, landed at bwi without incident. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the low oil pressure was caused by loss of oil quantity when an engine oil seal blew. Maintenance replaced the seal and the problem was solved.
