Narrative:
Was at FBO. Did run-up at hold short line. Called tower and was cleared to 'taxi runway 36L.' I misinterped instructions and taxied past hold short line toward runway. Tower stopped me prior to entering runway. This FBO has an unusually close distance to the runway. The hold short line is at the border of the FBO and there is essentially no distance (no taxiway) to the runway.
