Narrative:

I was training someone on the d-side. We had 2 sectors combined (crw and bkw). The radar controller's headset quit working and the user requested evaluation tool screen was full. I called to the supervisor that we needed a new headset, and needed to split out the sectors. I started to 'one man' the sector, and traffic was building. We never got help for splitting the sectors. After the radar controller got a new headset and took over, I returned to work the d-side. We were extremely busy and I was unable to assist radar in looking for traffic.
