Narrative:
Our flight departed frank axh for hou. We were flying to hobby to go to company X. We landed on runway 4 when tower advised us to turn right onto taxiway M. After our turn onto taxiway M, we contacted ground control who cleared us to the company X ramp without any specific route clearance. We proceeded southeast on taxiway M and turned left onto taxiway left. We saw the markings of runway 30R, but since we had been cleared to taxi to the ramp, we crossed the end of runway 30R. After we had turned southeast onto taxiway C, ground advised we had crossed an active runway without permission and instructed us to call the tower. I feel this could have been avoided if 1) we had the appropriate diagram in front of us and seen that taxiway M would have taken us to the ramp, and 2) if ground would have told us 'taxi to the ramp via taxiway M' rather than 'taxi to the ramp.'

Narrative: OUR FLT DEPARTED FRANK AXH FOR HOU. WE WERE FLYING TO HOBBY TO GO TO COMPANY X. WE LANDED ON RWY 4 WHEN TWR ADVISED US TO TURN R ONTO TXWY M. AFTER OUR TURN ONTO TXWY M, WE CONTACTED GND CTL WHO CLRED US TO THE COMPANY X RAMP WITHOUT ANY SPECIFIC RTE CLRNC. WE PROCEEDED SE ON TXWY M AND TURNED L ONTO TXWY L. WE SAW THE MARKINGS OF RWY 30R, BUT SINCE WE HAD BEEN CLRED TO TAXI TO THE RAMP, WE CROSSED THE END OF RWY 30R. AFTER WE HAD TURNED SE ONTO TXWY C, GND ADVISED WE HAD CROSSED AN ACTIVE RWY WITHOUT PERMISSION AND INSTRUCTED US TO CALL THE TWR. I FEEL THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF 1) WE HAD THE APPROPRIATE DIAGRAM IN FRONT OF US AND SEEN THAT TXWY M WOULD HAVE TAKEN US TO THE RAMP, AND 2) IF GND WOULD HAVE TOLD US 'TAXI TO THE RAMP VIA TXWY M' RATHER THAN 'TAXI TO THE RAMP.'
